The current state of the logistics industry in Chile shows a process of continuous improvement, particularly in the transportation sector. A notable development is the reactivation of rail freight transport, which offers more alternatives, helps decongest the roads in the capital, and reduces pollution. These advances have been driven by the lessons learned during the pandemic, which demonstrated the need to diversify and strengthen logistics infrastructures.

However, the main challenge for the industry is to prevent price competition from compromising service quality. It is crucial for clients to understand that a quality service, which ensures coverage and efficiency in international trade operations, may involve a higher cost, but it also offers greater benefits and security. Focusing on maintaining this balance, always prioritizing customer satisfaction and trust, should be a priority.

In this context, in the short, medium, and long term, the sector’s trend will be the consolidation of integrated logistics services offered by companies dedicated to international trade. Companies in this area must work daily to maintain and expand their client portfolio, offering an integrated, excellent service that covers all logistics needs; as well as striving to be quick in responses, flexible in the face of difficulties, and having strategic suppliers who collaborate in the successful execution of contracted services.
